March 13 Bala Kendra Class Update

om namah sivaya

Dear Parents,

Shruthi Class (voice training for bhajans) took place from 2:30 to 3 pm. We used this class to help prepare the kids for singing for Amma in June.  Madhavi, Sangee and Saavitri are helping the kids do the three bhajans in a small group format  (Dinom Ke Dukh Harta, Guru Charanam and You Mean Everything to Me).  All bhajans are on-line.  Please try to bring your kids to this class so they can get some one-on-one training.

Mantra Practice took place from 3 to 3:30 pm.
Pooja and Karthik became Pundits and Chitra became an Acharya.  Congratulations!!
We then did regular the opening prayers and group concentration and
japa, starting at 3:30 pm.

Then the small groups met individually.

1) Younger Group continued its study of various deities and their
symbolism.  The group covered the story of the marriage of Lord Shiva and Parvati and the concept that the Lord is pleased with devotion and love not with fancy offerings.  One of the kids, Rishabh, told the story of Kubera; Vikram will tell a story to the group next time.

Kindly contact Anita at aggarwal3@gmail.com for details.

2) Middle and Older Groups continued the Mahavakyas and Ramayan
stories -- For questions, kindly contact either Lalitha (for Older
Group at lalitha@aol.com) and Sudha (for Middle Group at
sudhaj@sbcglobal.net ).

"Renouncing a person of sinful resolve (even though it is a relation) whose

conduct has deviated from righteousness, one attains happiness, as one shakes

off a venomous serpent from his hand." Vibishina tells this to Indrajit that even if

one is kin, if they are doing unrighteous deeds, one has to renounce that person.

(Younger Group is K to 2nd Grade. Middle is 3rd to 5th. and Older is
Middle School.)
